5 Language and Media Journal Entries

• Brief journal responses to connect readings, class discussions, and personal experiences with media, each approximately 250-300 words
• Due on days 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11
• 100 points each x 5 = 500 points

Language/Media Analysis Essay

• 1200 to 1500 word essay that examines an aspect of language/media through a critical analysis and in reference to course readings
• A rough draft will be due on Thursday, June 4th (Day 8) and I will provide feedback by Monday before class. The final drafts will be due on Tuesday, June 9th (Day 10).
• 300 points

Multimedia Project

• Digital project that synthesizes the student’s research with at least three forms of media represented such as audio, video, and web-based texts
• Final presentation on day 12
• 200 points
